The Chinese ethnic group controls almost all trade sectors in the city of Lubuklinggau. The purpose of this research is to analyze the practice of trade domination by ethnic Chinese in the city of Lubuklinggau, using Bourdieu's perspective through the concepts of habitus, capital and arena as an integral part of the practice. The habitus of the Chinese ethnic in trading has been formed since childhood by their family so that it has indirectly formed honest, friendly, diligent, disciplined and frugal behavior. The domain also plays an important role in the practice of ethnic Chinese, within the realm there are power relations which indirectly provide greater privileges for ethnic Chinese traders than local traders. This power relation makes the Chinese ethnic have a strong network as social capital, which can give rise to other capital such as economic capital and symbolic capital so that the ethnic Chinese trade activities are superior to local traders. Key words: chinese ethnicity; habitus; capital; arenas/fields; domination practices} }
