SEBAGAI KOSMETIK PEMBERSIH WAJAH (CLEANSING WATER)}, year={2023}, url={http://repository.unsri.ac.id/105032/}, abstract={Catechins are flavonoid compounds that contain antioxidants that can prevent cell damage from free radicals and reduce excess melanin production by inhibiting the tyrosinase enzyme. Delivery of active substances is more effective when done in dosage forms, so gambir extract is formulated into facial cleansers that can deliver active substances properly. This study aims to obtain an optimum formula and have good cleaning effectiveness with the addition of gambier extract, which contains catechins. Gambir ethyl acetate extract facial cleanser will be formulated using the Design-Expert® application with a factorial design method of 22, which produces 4 formulas with varying concentrations of Tween 80 and PEG-400. The responses observed in this study were % transmittance, globule size, PDI, zeta potensial and % net power. The total level of flavonoids produced from the ethyl acetate extract of Gambir leaves was 767.42 mg CE/g extract. The optimum formula uses tween 80 and PEG-400 concentrations of 18% and 8%, respectively. The optimum formula produces a transmittance of 98.93%, a globule size of 29.77 nm, a PDI of 0.519, a zeta potential of 5.91 mV, and a cleanability of 69.27%. The optimum organoleptic formula is yellow, clear, and has a distinctive aroma of gambir extract. There is no phase separation. The results of the characterization of the optimum formula showed a pH of 5.78 and a viscosity of 1.61 mPa.s and the organoleptic yield after the stability test showed no difference between the pre-test preparations and no phase separation. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the optimum formula has good globule characteristics, cleanability, and is physically stable.} }
