The addition of feed additives such as turmeric and black pepper as antioxidants can increase the productivity of the digestive tract, especially the small intestine. This study aims to determine the effect of giving turmeric flour and black pepper capsules on the small intestine and the number of lactic acid bacteria in the cecum of KUB chickens. This research was carried out from 1 July until 29 September 2022. It took place in the Poultry Experimental Cage of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Sample testing for the number of BAL was carried out at the Agricultural Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study uses RAL method with used 5 treatments, namely P0 = Giving basal Rations, P1= Giving basal Rations with Turmeric Flour (0.4gr/head/day) P2=Giving Rations with Turmeric Flour (0.4 gr/head/day) and 1 Black Pepper Capsule (0.2gr/head/day) P3=Giving Rations with Turmeric Flour (0.4 gr/head/day) and 2 Black Pepper Capsules (0.4gr/head/day) P4=Giving Rations with Turmeric Flour (0.4gr/head/day) and 3 Black Pepper Capsules (0.6gr/head/day), as well as descriptive methods. The observed variables included the relative weight percentage of the small intestine, the length of the small intestine and the amount of BAL in the cecum of KUB chickens. In this study showed result that had a significant effect (P<0,05) on the relative weight of the duodenum, but had no significant effect (P>0,5) on relative weights of intact small intestine, jejenum and ileum. Then shows results that have on significant effect (P>0,5) on intact small intestine, duodeum, jejenum and ileum. Based on the research result obtained showed that the P1 or with capsules treatment showed the best dose that was more optimal in increasing the percentage of the relative weight of the small intestine and the length of the small intestine on the KUB chicken.
