The dynamic ecosystem affects biota such as fish to tend to aggregate to help them survive from predation or feeding. This study was conducted to identify fish shoals using hydroacoustic methods and then determine the relationship between acoustic descriptor variables and environmental parameter aspects. The research was conducted from March 2022 to April 2023, using echogram data from hydroacoustic surveys and measurements of physical environmental parameters in Banyuasin waters. Acoustic descriptor components are extracted from echograms using echoview software, as a result, there are three components: energetic, bathymetric, and morphometric. The morphometric components obtained four forms of shoaling, namely A (horizontal oval), B (vertical oval), C (tending to be round), and D (irregular). Shoaling with form A has an average energetic value with an SV Mean variable of (-47.03) dB; form B (-41.47 dB); form C (-47.33 dB); and form D (-54.41 dB). Based on the bathymetric component, the shoaling found is dominated near the bottom of the water with a depth range of 2 - 9.8 m. 89 shoals of fish were found and PCA analysis was performed to determine the correlation between acoustic descriptor variables and environmental parameters. As a result of PCA analysis, it was found that the energetic descriptor component (SV Mean) correlates with environmental parameters such as pH and temperature. The bathymetric descriptor component (Mean Shoal Depth, Bottom Depth) correlates with environmental parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO) and salinity. However, the morphometric descriptor component (Beam Volume Sum, Height, Length) does not correlate with any environmental parameters} }
