This study aims to determine the content of phenolic and carotenoid compounds and antioxidant activity contained in Spirulina platensis microalgae using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrihidrazyl) and FRAP (Ferric-Reducing Antioxidant Power) methods. The content of phenolic compounds obtained were total phenols and flavonoids of 7.25 mg GAE/g and 13.59 mg QE/g and carotenoid beta carotene of 1.771 mg/g. The IC50 value of Spirulina platensis microalgae extract obtained by the DPPH method was 240.931 µg/mL and by the FRAP method was 1431.008 µg/mL. The results of this study indicate that the FRAP method affects the IC50 value of the extract due to the process of reducing the reduction of antioxidant compounds due to acid protonation. Based on the research, it was concluded that the extract of Microalgae Spirulina platensis has potential as an antioxidant with weak antioxidant activity.} }
