The sample was a seventh grade students are taught using learning strategies inquiring minds want to know the number of students 30 people and students of class VII B are taught using conventional learning with the number of students 30 people. The data used in this research is the data value pretest and posttest of the experimental class ( inquiring minds want to know) and grade control (conventional) . Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0 and manual analysis . Prior to testing hypotheses , test data is a prerequisite to use the pretest to see the start of the second -class capabilities samples . From the analysis of the data obtained by the Sig (2-tailed) = 0.0224 > 0.05 and t_hitung = 1.3491 < t_tabel = 2.002 then accept Ho . Therefore concluded that there was no difference in the ability early in the second grade sample . Posttest value data used for hypothesis testing using independent samples test . Having analyzed the data obtained by the Sig . ( 2 - tailed ) = 0.002 < 0.05 and t_hitung = -3.05343 > t_tabel = 2.002 then reject Ho . Therefore concluded that there are significant differences in mathematics achievement of sects taught using a set of learning strategies inquiring minds want to know and conventional learning in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Atambua academic year 2014/2015 . Therefore, researchers suggest for teachers to use learning strategies inquiring minds want to know as one of the strategies in the classroom according to the material to be taught .} }
