Key words: writing, descriptive text, error Analysis This research was conducted to analyze the error on the use simple present tense in writing descriptive text made by tenth grade students in SMK YPSEI Palangka Raya in academic year 2019/2020. the fact that the students have problem in grammar according to the interview with the English teacher. The number of students were 22 students. In this research, the researcher used form of qualitative research design, especially in descriptive method. In which the researcher only described the fact and problem matters related to the students error on the use of simple present tense in writing descriptive text. The students texts were used as the data. The data were processed thought several procedure such as checking, coding, and analyzing. After analysis process done. The error were identified and classified according to the steps of error analysis. After computing the percentages of error in each category, that found the error made by the students gave task to the students twice. First task, error made by students were, the use of ?to be? error was 7 errors or 21.87% and the highest error in first task was the use of verb 1 with the total 25 errors or 78.13%. Second task, error made by students were, the use of ?to be? error was 4 errors or 14.29% and the highest error in second task was the use of verb 1 with the total 24 errors or 85.71%.} }
