		abstract={This study aims to determine the relationship of the Human Development Index in the development of poverty and GDRP in West Sumatra. The results of this study can be input for the provincial government in making appropriate policies related to poverty alleviation, improving the quality of education and health, so as to improve the welfare and quality of society in the province of West Sumatra. The methodology used in this study is a quantitative method with several test methods. All regencies and provincial cities in the West Sumatra region are used as research objects because developments in these areas are still uneven when compared to other regions in Indonesia. The results showed that the Human Development Index mostly had an influence on the development of poverty and various important aspects in the implementation of development in the province of West Sumatra.}
