Abstract :
In the operation of interconnection power systems, there are many electricity and load centers (substations). These power centers in the substation are connected to the transmission line. To control the operation of such a system, a load-bearing center is required with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). SCADA collects data and information from the power system to be displayed in a load-regulating center. The appearance of this data via SCADA system is required by the system operator (Dispatcher). To take operational steps to make the system operate optimally. Optimum means achieving minimum fuel by meeting quality and reliability. The Communication Media of the Remote Terminal Unit is connected to a SCADA computer from a load-regulating center via a telecommunication line. In this thesis will discuss the working principle of Remote Terminal Unit in a substation.
