Abstract :
ABSTRACT The network distribution especially in big cities such as Jakarta develops into a ground cable networks, it was due to the issue of permission from the Regional Government. The using of ground cable in network distribution caused some operational problems like ground cable is rarely disturbed, however if there is a disturbance, the process to find the disturbance point takes a long times, it can be up to several days. Ground cable disturbance mostly happen because of the ground cable was broken. The reparation also takes a long times, about 1 day. Because of those considerations, there is a thought of using differential relay in network distribution, which is use ground cable and the cable configuration is made into loop system so that its reliability becomes better. This thesis will study the used of differential relay when disturbance occur to the ground cable between relay station distribution KN32 and KN36 by using calculation of analysis of short circuit in distribution network loop system. The value of current disturbance in the ground cable is 238,12A and current setting relay differential is 0,649A.
