Abstract :
Short circuit is one of disorder that can occur in the power system. Short circuit devided into two types, that are symmetrical short circuit and asymmetrical short circuit. Short circuit may cause short circuit current that causes damage to the electrical installation equipment. Therefore, needed protection system that important to detect the presence of interference and can prevent damage to the electrical installation equipment cause by short circuit. Necessary to short circuit current calculation that may occur in the power system to be used as a reference in setting the relay and circuit breaker capacity elections. There are several method can be used to determine the amount of short circuit current value, including by using existing international standards, that are IEC standart and ANSI standart.
