Abstract :
Microhydro power plant (PLTMH) is a power plant that uses water as an energy source. Water energy is one of the most potential renewable energy. Karedok dam located in Jatigede Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency has the main function as regulator and provider of irrigation water with output discharge of 17,89 m3/s during dry season and output discharge equal to 14,66 m3/s during rainy season. This study aims to determine the magnitude of existing electricity potential and can be generated by PLTMH by utilizing the discharge and irrigation patterns of karedok dam. In planning PLTMH use KAPLAN type turbine with low head. Based on calculation data obtained head maximum in dry season (dry pattern) 9,272 m and debit equal to 17,89 m3/s and head maximum at rainy season (wet pattern) 3,787 m and discharge equal to 14,66 m3/s. Produce maximum theoretical power in dry season (dry pattern) 1236,755 kW, maximum theoretical power in rainy season (wet pattern) 413,956 kW and energy equal to 4316246,994 kWh per year.
