Abstract :
PLTU with coal fuels a dominant influence in the production of electrical power in Indonesia, producing abaut 60% of the electricity production Indonesia. For the coming five years the Government of Indonesia initiated the construction of the power plant of 35,000 MW consisting largely of PLTU coal. In providing electric power loads that describes the electric power consumption of consumers or users are always changing all the time, while available power must have a constant voltage and frequency. To achieve this required an adequate control system. In addition in electric power systems is inevitable occurrence of disturbances to deal with this disorder so it needed protection system. In this thesis are discussed control system and motor protection of the boiler feed pump in steam power plant especially coal PLTU. PLTU a large size of approximately 600 MW power requires roughly 6 MW (3%). The filler pump to move the boiler, the boiler filler pump to be driven by a steam turbine or motor induction, induction motor technology because new power could reach approximately 10 MW when used induction motor required approximately 3 motorcycles that work parallel. In this thesis are discussed how the control and protection of the boiler filler motor 3 pieces that work parallel.
