Abstract :
In the process of electrical energy distribution, we know that customer of PLN with the type of tariff of I2, I3, and I4 in its electricity usage is charged kWH and kVARH usage every month. For customers with the type of tariff I, the load is always inductive because the electrical equipment used is always absorb kVARH. If he greater the value of PF, the smaller the value of kVARH so that the cost of usage kVARH smaller. PLN customers under the industry tariff category are charged for their excess kVARH if PF < 0,85 lagging. For use kVARH with PF above 0,85, the customer is not charged. For that in an effort to reduce kVARH cost, some customers try to raise the value of PF to ? 0,85 lagging. In this bachelor thesis will discuss the improvement of power factor in industrial customers I2, PT. Kutrindo Indonesia as well as calculate the effect on the voltage improvement obtained from the daily load data. Results of calculations and analysis, then set for improvement of power factor in the operation of PT. Kutrindo Indonesia to be 0,9 lagging, need to be installed Low Voltage 3? capacitor, 380 volts equal to 7,8856788 kVAR.
