Abstract :
In the distribution network of 20 kV frequent disturbance, one of them is short circuit current interruption. In overcoming this short circuit current interference is required coordination between the safety of the distribution network in order to isolate the disturbance and protect the distribution network and equipment residing in the network. Overcurrent Rele - OCR protects electrical installations against inter-phase noise. The working principle of OCR, which distinguishes only on the functions and elements of current sensors. OCR usually has 2 or 3 current sensors (for 2 or 3 phase). This rele works by reading the input in the form of a current value and then comparing it with the setting value, if the current value read by the release exceeds the setting value, the rele will send trip command to the Circuit Breaker (CB) after the time delay Which is applied to settings. OCR release time depends on setting value and time characteristics. Time delay element in this release at 2, ie low set element and high set element. Low set elements work when interference occurs with relatively small short-circuit current, while high-performance elements work when interference with large short-circuit current occurs. OCR Rele is installed as a motor protection device, transformer, transmission carrier, and repeater. Perform calculations and re-analysis by changing the adjustment of the overcurrent currents on the side of the buffer using the inverse characteristics in accordance with the provisions of PLN.
