Abstract :
Salemo island, is one of the island in the District and it?s familiar called Pangkep. Salemo island are geographically isolated areas. The electricity supply in the area experienced constraints in the procurement and distribution network. In general, electrification of isolated areas using diesel power plants (diesel) procured conducted by PT PLN. Generator capacity available on the island Salemo of 100 kW which is operated for 11 hours per day, but as the population growth and increase in load each year, diesel generator becomes less efficient in most of the operating time in which the maximum load is not so inefficient in the use of fuels. Besides, a large maintenance costs at the time of low load. Hybrid power plant design (Solar-Diesel) is expected to meet the electricity needs of 24 hours. With good solar energy potential (an annual average of 5.7 kWh / m2 / day), 70 Watt peak load and daily consumption about 1150 kWh of energy, electricity needs Salemo island can be supplied with power plant Solar-Diesel hybrid system consisting of modules 150 kWp solar, 2500 Ah battery and genset 125 kVA. After designing with attention to the daily load profiles and patterns of operation hybrid system can meet the requirement of power supply in the island Salemo for 24 hours and the use of more fuel efficient.
