Abstract :
Electrical power transmission system has very important role in the distribution of electricity from plant to consumers, therefore it is necessary protection equipment that has effectivity and reliability for maintaining the continuity of supply of electrical power. Relay used on the transmission line are distance relay, over current relay (OCR), and ground fault relay (GFR). Distance relay as main protection while over current relay and ground fault relay as backup protection. Distance relay measuring current and voltage values at a certain point and then compare with a certain setting value to determine the relay work or not, OCR and GFR determined on the short-circuit current seen relay. Setting and coordination from relays (distance relay, OCR and GFR) required to avoid overlapping of work relays so relays can work reliable, quick, selective, and sensitive in dealing fault.
