Abstract :
The movement of electric charge will produces magnetic field. The strength of magnetic field depends on the permeability of the material in the magnet. Different material used as magnet will also have different permeability. Based on the magnetic properties, magnetic material is classified into three types, such as ferromagnetic which can be attracted strongly by magnetism, diamagnetic which could not be attracted by magnetism, and paramagnetic which are attracted weakly by a magnetism. The more magnetic flux generated by a material, the higher voltage will be generated as well as the magnetic field. This thesis will discuss the relationship between the voltage generated by permanent magnet generator and the flux produced by magnetic materials with different permeability. The optimum voltage is obtained by calculation with air gap as variable, and will be described in table and relationship curve between voltage and permeability. As for achieving qualified voltage and flux density, is chosen based on the permeability of magnetic materials.
