Abstract :
Power transformer overload can result in overheating which further excessive heat can accelerate the aging process, the transformer can be loaded more for a while without exceeding the temperature rise at 650C (so it does not result in shortening of age), if the previous load is low enough. In the oil-immersed transformer hot-spot temperature in the winding influenced by the deterioration rate (the rate worsening) of insulation. Disorders of the cooling system can cause excessive temperature rise although still below its nominal load, in this case the transformer will also experience shortened lifespan. In this paper discusses the effect of the working temperature of the transformer to the expected normal lifespan.
