Abstract :
A medium voltage feeder is one of essential components in electrical distribution system. A feeder has a function to distribute electrical power from a substation to distributional substation that later will be distributed to the consumers. In other note, more often than not, in reality feeders are often interfered. One of its causes is short circuit fault that will lead to a blackout. To fix this type of interferences, a protection system that is qualified in its sensitivity, reliability, selectivity and responsiveness is needed. Protection equipments that are commonly used in medium voltage feeders are over current relay (OCR) and ground fault relay (GFR), These are relays that instruct PMT to open up, so that the medium voltage ground distribution or the medium voltage underground distribution that are interfered will be isolated from their network. This thesis will be concerned with the comparison between calculation results of over current relay setting and ground fault relay to over current relay setting and ground fault relay installed on Desa Kolot feeders in Garut.
