Abstract :
Substation (GI) is a system of electrical installations consisting of several fixtures and electrical appliances to connected electricity from the transmission network to the primary distribution network. Substations transform the energy from high voltage to low voltage or otherwise and another important functions. Electric power flowed through several substations up to the customer. The substations require intensive maintenance, because the substation is very vital role, if any damage or interruption in substations, the activity of which depends on the substation will be hampered and result in any losses that can be felt by customers and PT PLN (Persero) as a supplier of electricity, especially in economic terms. There are two methods of maintenance that can be done to prevent damage of the equipment in substations is routine maintenance and predictive maintenance. In this thesis will discuss about the comparison in terms of the maintenance period and economically between routine maintenance and predictive maintenance.
