Abstract :
In the power production fuel costs are the largest costs to be incurred, of approximately 50-60% of the operating costs. In the interconnected system contained a mixture of hydro and thermal power plant that required a technique to divide the load between the hydro and thermal groups in order to achieve minimum fuel costs. The main factor of optimization technique is the limited amount of available water in hydro power plant and varied kinds of fuel prices of thermal power plant unit in the system. In this paper will discuss how to achieve optimum load sharing with a limited amount of water for hydro power plant but achievable minimum fuel costs.
