Abstract :
abnormal conditions. One of the devices that use the power transformer protection is a differential relay. Differential relays for as main protection and cannot be used as a backup protection. This relay works by comparing the current flow of incoming and outgoing. The relay will detect fault and instructs circuit breaker to open (trip). A good protection system is supported by appropriate settings on differential relay to prevent faults and improve the reliability of the transmission system. A power transformer on a transmission system in an important main component, and therefore it must be protected from the faults leading to reduced reliability. The method used is descriptive quantitative method where to get the results of the calculation, data parameters in the form of numbers are needed. So that if the result obtained from the calculation will be able to describe the comparison of the differential relay work analysis on the 60 MVA transformer 150/20 kV substation. The data use in this research are secondary data taken at GI Cengkareng and looking for journal references related to the study. All data is used as a component of manual mathematical calculations. Components calculated are current transformer ratio values, errors mismatch and parameters at the differential relay in normal condition is 1,35 A, and it is expected to set the transformer protection system to work optimally.
