Abstract :
Distribution transformer is one of the main components in a system of distributing electricity to costumers. Without the distribution transformer, the costumer cannot use electricity directly considering the distribution operating voltage is 20 KV or called medium voltage network. It needs a step down distribution transformer to reduce the voltage of 20 KV to a low voltage of 220/380 KV. That is why, the tools is must to be in a long age dan can be use for a long time. then the installation and maintenance of the transformer must be in accordance with established standards. Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 354 claim if a transformer get a stable load on it?s identification power with ambient temperature 20?, transformer hot spot temperature will reach 98? and it?s lifetime became 20,55 years or 7500 days. Daily average ambient temperature in Jakarta is 30?. The result obtained state that there was a relative age 8,1% to 14% of the 3 transformers used ad research if the load was in accordance with measurement (71,83 ? 81,6%). Conversely, if you follow the growth of the load, the transformer is burdened continously by 100% rated power, then the relative shrinkage to 317%. From this it can be conclude that the loading of 80% is a pretty good strategy in terms of the age of the transformer. This loading can also be anticipated if there is a temporary overloading.
