Abstract :
The more developed an area and population growth, the electricity demand will increase following the development of the area. Electric power is used to support regional development processes in various aspects including economics, education and technology. There are some problems that are often encountered in electric power distribution, one of which is voltage drop. To overcome the voltage drop, there is a method that can be used, named installing capacitor. In this paper, it discusses about study the using of capacitor for repairing voltage drop on Grajagan feeder PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Banyuwangi. From the simulation results, we get the increasing value of the voltage near the base of the line is 0.027 kV. In addition, the voltage value increases around the center of the line with the value about 0.087 kV. And, at the end of the line there is also an increasing value of the voltage with varies value. If the installation of capacitor at 50% of the line length, it?s obtained an increasing value of 0.088 kV, if the installation of capacitor at 80% of the line length, it?s obtained an increasing value of 0.136 kV, if the installation of capacitor at 100% of the line length it?s obtained an increasing value of 0.166 kV. From the simulation results, can be seen that the location of the best capacitor installation is at 100% of the line length from the base.
