Abstract :
This thesis discusses the solar photovoltaic energy (solar cell energy) as a power plant with solar energy sources. The electricity generated will be used for lighting and power supply control system. The working principle of solar power generation is from sunlight energy captured in the form of photons. The electric current generated from the solar cells is direct current (DC) is converted into alternating current (AC) using an inverter. The problem that often occurs in the electrical world one of which has a short-circuit current risks, especially on equipment that can damage equipment and electrical networks due to increased flow. As for how to determine the short circuit current is by means of simulation software using ETAP. The resulting voltage ranges from 87 solar cell. 6 Volt DC and have a current of 2:12 A in a solar panel. Solar panels are used in the form of panel types of polycrystalline (poly-crystalline) with a power of 170 Wp, and amount to as much as 6120 solar panel is divided into 51 blocks, each - each block consists of 120 solar panelsShort-circuit current value on the network occurs in the BUS Cirata SPP Plant in the amount of 1.861 kA, if coupled with the value of the load current of 200,66A. So have a total value that is equal to: 1861+ 200.66 = 2061,66A. When compared with solar power capacity is: 1340.5 kA Ampere or 1.3405. That value is already classified as a danger point on the network and the SPP will lead to damaged equipment and networks in the Cirata SPP.
