Abstract :
ABSTRACT The use of waste ceramics as a substitute for coarse aggregate because these wastes can cause damage to the environment, among others if chunks of waste ceramic carelessly discarded into the river, there will be sedimentation, resulting in silting of the river that will lead to flooding when the rainy season comes, and environmental waste disposal sites ceramics will be difficult overgrown by plants, so that when the dry season the environment will suffer drought and dust can contaminate the air. Of these problems will do research on the use of ceramic waste as a substitute for coarse aggregate in the concrete mixing with the addition of fly ash. The test specimen made of concrete measuring 15 x 30 cm and planned in accordance with SNI 03-2847-2002, FAS value of 0.47, a slump of 80-130 mm, the mix proportions are 5 variations of a mixture of normal concrete, ceramic waste mixture with a variation of 5% , 10%, 15%, 20%, and the addition of fly ash amounting to 5% by weight of cement for each variation of a mixture of ceramic waste. Parameter test is the slump test, the porosity of concrete, and concrete compressive strength. For porosity testing performed on day 28, whereas for concrete compressive strength test conducted on day 7, 14, and 28. The use of ceramic waste as a substitute for coarse aggregate with the addition of fly ash was found to increase the compressive strength of concrete. The value of the highest compressive strength is concrete with ceramic waste variation of 15%, that is 348,25 kg/cm2, while the compressive strength of normal concrete at 327,15 kg/cm2. To test porosity in porosity values can be average in every variation of 7%.
