Abstract :
The Lubuk Gadang Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) is a power plant managed by PT Selo Kencana Energi to increase electricity supply. The purpose of this study is to review the head height and water discharge in the Lubuk Gadang MHP. The calculation is done with the selected average time / hour data which is 00.00, 08.00 and 16.00 for 4 weeks with a head height of 44, 46 and 48. And it is proven that the higher the head the higher the power produced. For load simulation with ETAP software, 2 units of power plant data are used, data of week 4, head height of 44m, power generated is 7101kW, 46m power is generated 7424kW, 48m power is generated by 7746kW. And after being simulated in ETAP software it turns out that the power generated in the week to do not match cos cos that is 0.85 because the voltage exceeds the capacity of the network system that is 20kV and needs to increase cos because it can reduce the voltage without making a decrease in power when the power requested by PLN 7.1 with cos 0.85 the voltage on the PLTMH bus exceeds the system capacity of 20 kV, the voltage generated on the PLTMH bus is 23,331 kV and on the PLN system network is 20,798 kV and the solution is to raise cos to 97% and 7.4 also climb cos to 98% and 7.7 to 99%.
