Abstract :
A Gas and Steam Power Plant is a combination of a Gas Power Plant and a Steam Power Plant, where the heat from the exhaust gases from the Gas Power Plant is used as a working fluid in and the part used to produce steam is the Heat Recovery Steam Generator . Gas and Steam Power Plants also need their own power consumption and one of the factors of own use is losses. In the annual operating plan, the value of the usage itself will be determined and will be one of the operating targets in the operation of the Gas and Steam Power Plant. The losses incurred are kept to a minimum so as not to produce a large amount of clothing. If the losses are not too high and the operating performance target set will be met and will add to the net value so that the value of production will increase and will be large to meet the electricity needs needed by consumers, the amount of the use of the unit's own load of 2% of the total power generated. For Tanjung Priok Gas and Steam Power Plants the percentage of Self Use should be 2%. But the reality on the ground exceeds 2%. In this study the authors used quantitative methods in processing data and used descriptive methods to analyze problem solving. The value of use alone can be saved to 1,6% by using the calculation method of the payback period method, the investment costs reduce the loss of use itself will return within 2,06 years.
