Abstract :
Distribution of electricity at Indonesia hasn?t distributed equally especially on 3T (Tertinggal, Terdepan, Terluar) area. On other side fossil fuel becoming rare and the operational cost is high. To solve this problem, we need a concrete solution that a development of small scale power plants with alternative fossil fuel that environment friendly. Waste could be source of problem that can be converted to waste pellet and produce high heat around 3.802 KCal/Kg (result of tekmira laboratorium). Value of that heat equal to early coal heat, so waste can be used as alternative fuel for fossil energy on 3T area. Not only resolving waste problem on big cities, this kind of waste treatment is one of contribution to reach the target of energy mixture to 23% at year 2025. Feasibility study of PLTBM requiring two units of downdraft gasifier Jn-25 (250 kVA) dan two units of generator gas with 200 kW for peak load 160 kW capacity. PLTBM with waste pellet assumed more efficient and suitable to be constructed because of the investment value around Rp 6.408.680.900,- .With sell cost of electricity Rp 1.600,- per kWh and 12% interest per year resulting NPV 976.527.026 IRR 15,73%, BCR 1.152 and 5 year 4 month of PBP. So, using waste pellet as PLTBM fuel Downdraft gasification decent to be constructed for 3T area.
