Abstract :
The power transformer used in the substation serves as a channel of electrical power and reduces the transmission voltage to the distribution voltage. Transformers are very important tool that must be maintained reliability to reach the age according to the IEEE Std C57.91-2011 for 20.55 years, then maintenance must be carried out according to the standards set. One of the causes of reduced age of the transformer is loading, where the greater the loading of the transformer, the greater the heat arising on the windings which can damage the insulation, where the insulation life is the basic life of the transformer. The purpose of this research is to compare the age loss between 2 transformers, namely power transformer 2 and power transformer 3 installed in GIS Grogol, with the same manufacturer but with different operating years. The data used is the highest monthly transformer loading data in 2018, namely October. The results of the research obtained the remaining age of transformer 2 is 14.19 years and the transformer 3 remaining life is 13.39 years. As a result of the estimated increase in load in 2019-2022, so that the hotspot temperatures are higher and affect the thermal tracking rate which can reduce the life of transformer 2 and transformer 3 each year.
