Abstract :
DC resources in a plant have an important role in the smooth operation of the generator to serve electricity needs of the consumers. The DC system in block 5 PLTGU of Muara Tawar has two units supplied by 400V rectifiers, batteries and inverters, where the system is connected in parallel to the load. The supplied load is an essential load (49.3A DC load and 106A - 122A AC load). The performance of the battery is above 60%, where it is still in a good condition or it was in 100% precentage condition based on the last battery capacity test in 2015. By 680 Ah battery capacity, it can supply the load in 2 conditions. First, it results battery usage for 10-12,4 hours when the load is regulated by 55 A (in 2011) and 68 A (in 2015) dummy load. Second, it will consume the battery capacity faster by using the load on the nameplate, with 155.3A - 277.3A maximum current load. Thus, by using the load on the nameplate, it will be known the voltage drop supplied. This essential load is very important for a generator when the DC system is not functioning properly, it can endanger the equipment of its essential load. If there is a disruption in the DC system equipment, it is necessary to have a procurement of the materials or stock materials to minimize the time usage.
