Abstract :
Distribution transformer has a very crucial role on electrical power supply distribution system. Power outages because of transformer damage make service continuity for consumer to be distrupted. One of the causes of transformer damage was over loading which impact to loss of life transformer. The purpose of the research was to compare the effect of loading and ambient temperature between two 160 kVA distribution transformer. This research uses descriptive research method. Transformer loading data at substation MA638 and MH663 obtained from PT. PLN Bojonegoro Area. Ambient temperature was 33,8oC, that was the average temperature in Bojonegoro. The source will be analyzed based on thermal aging of insulation and loss of life calculation. Based on the data analysis, concluded that the loading was increase, the loss of life transformer will be increase too. Based on the MA638 loading data that have loading rate 72,9%, got a result of loss of life 0,1058 and estimated remaining life 19,492 years. Based on the MH663 loading data that have loading rate 78,28%, got a result of loss of life 0,1502 and estimated remaining life 19,198 years.
