Abstract :
In distribution systems in urban areas, especially in Tangerang, almost all of them use underground cables for medium voltage systems or commonly referred to as SKTM (Medium Voltage Cable Channels). The initial stress test for partial discharge and the number and distribution of PD pulses are the most important quantities to determine the quality of insulation, identification with certain PD patterns and localization of PD is the most important aspect of a cable. PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Cikupa utilizes cable assessment to maintain reliable distribution of electricity. For internal disturbances in underground cables it is usually caused by partial discharge (PD) activity. Partial discharge is an electrical discharge on an isolation medium that is located between two different electrodes but the discharge does not completely connect the two electrodes. The Oscillating Wave Test System (OWTS) can record the activity of partial discharge by providing Damped Alternating Current voltage on cable system. Obtained from the analysis of this thesis is that the condition of phase T (L3) is in a bad condition with a PD value of 12850 pC, where the PD location is at 725 m on jointing and 1841 m on the cable itself. The charge generated in the calculation is 3565 pC, the difference in value in the test is caused by the presence of void, void size.
