Abstract :
The construction of 500 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear Extra High Voltage in Duri Kosambi, each consisting of two Interbus Transformers (IBT) of 500 MVA and consisting of a 500 kV bay transmission towards Muara Karang Baru, Balaraja and Kembangan, is expected to overcome load growth which is high in the Jakarta and surrounding areas, it is necessary to review the breaking capacity of the Circuit Breaker that will be installed so that it can overcome the possibility of short circuit currents that can damage the power system and cause the supply of electricity to the consumer side to be cut off. In this paper, the author will discuss the calculation of the largest short circuit current using electrical software to determine the breaking capacity of Circuit Breaker bay IBT 1 and IBT 2 150 kV Duri Kosambi after the addition of GITET 500 kV Duri Kosambi. The value of the largest short circuit current in bay IBT 1 and bay IBT 2 is 25,221 kA and 21,042 kA, and the value of capacity of the power breaker calculated on bay IBT 1 and bay IBT 2 is 6553 MVA and 5466 MVA
