Abstract :
Transmission lines have a very important role in the process of distributing electricity from the electricity center to the load center. That process it is not free from disturbances that can cause blackouts, so that blackouts do not expand, we need a safeguard system that can order to the Circuit Breaker (CB) to separate the disturbed sections with good sections. The electric power transmission system has a protection device on a transmission line, the device is Distance Relay that is used as a protection system. The working principle of Distance Relay is by measuring the impedance of the transmission line which is divided into several coverage areas, there are zone 1, zone 2 and zone 3. The method used to determine Distance Relay settings on a 150 kV High Voltage overhead transmission system in Cikupa Substation to Balaraja Substation is by looking for conductor and transformer parameter data. From the calculation, it is obtained that the setting value has a smaller value compared to the results of the calculation, with the difference in impedance of Zone 1 of 0,48 ?, Zone 2 of 1,55 ? and Zone 3 of 1,02 ?. The difference in impedance settings in each zone can affect the estimated interference distance.
