Abstract :
As time goes on, power generation will inevitably lose electrical energy. Therefore, electrical
energy needs to be anticipated and predicted so that the community's needs are properly met.
One of the equipment used in the distribution of energy is a distribution transformer. A
transformer is an electrical device that functions to increase and decrease the voltage. In
transformers, various disturbances generally occur, one of which is load imbalance. The
load imbalance is caused due to the uneven distribution of the load for each phase so that
the current is not balanced, there will be a current in the neutral conductor and also cause
a current to flow to ground, this occurrence can cause losses that can affect the efficiency of
the transformer. This study uses a quantitative analysis method where the numbers will be
calculated mathematically which includes power losses, transformer load imbalances and
transformer efficiency. The results obtained in this study are that the load imbalance on the
transformer at night is 20.33% while during the day it is 14% and at night it exceeds the
IEEE std 446-1980 standard. In the neutral current losses that flow to the neutral conductor
is 1.15% during the day and 4.24% at night. In the neutral current losses that flow to ground
with a value of 6.22% during the day and 14.41% at night. The efficiency of the transformer
at night is 81.33 %, smaller than during the day, which is 92.61 %, already less than SPLN
D3.002-1 2007.
