Abstract :
To fulfill the electricity demand in an underdeveloped region which has not yet gotten electricity supply from PLN, so then there is a need of innovation in harnessing the existing natural resources, as one such is solar power plant. Through semi-communal solar power plant off grid system concept, the production of kWh per year amounts to 17.520 kWh to supply load demand of 36,540 kWh a day using 40 solar panels placed on top of resident housings that also act as solution to the lack of empty land in the areas. Performance Ratios (PR) of the design reaches 87% and is stated as reasonable to be actualized. Initial investment issued as much as Rp. 465.280.298 with operation and maintenance costs (O&M) of Rp. 4.652.802,96/year. Costs of solar power plant energy amounts to 3.700/kWh which is still categorized as high compared to the costs of diesel power plant energy which only amounts to Rp.1.493,5/kWh. However, the maintenance costs of diesel power plant are high compared to solar power plant, amounting to Rp. 14.400.000/year. The result of investment feasibility analysis shows NPV value of Rp. 483.336,72 for the 20 years solar power plant service lifetime with IRR value amounts to 18% and BCR of 1,02, all indicating that the project is feasible. Payback period of initial investment will be at year 7 month 8 and day 22nd of the 20-year project lifetime.
