Abstract :
Transformer is an important equipment in distributing electrical energy. So that the failure
of the transformer can interfere with the distribution of electrical energy. The insulating
oil in the transformer has an important role because in addition to functioning as
insulation it also functions as a coolant in the transformer. As an insulating oil must have
the ability to withstand breakdown voltages and as a coolant oil must have the ability to
reduce the heat generated in the transformer. Therefore routine maintenance is important
to do. The method used for testing transformer isolation is Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)
and Breakdown Voltage (BDV). DGA diagnosis is carried out to determine the rate of
gas growth in oil in parts per million (ppm). The results obtained from testing the
transformer unit 6 at the 150 kV Bogor Baru Substation with the Total Dissolve
Combustible Gas (TDCG) method can be used to determine the DGA test schedule, Key
Gas obtained very high CO content with a percentage in the first test 34.83% and the
second test 35.99% with an indication of overheated cellulose (thermal-cellulose) failure
due to overheating of the transformer, resulting in deterioration of the paper insulation,
while using the Duval Triangle it is indicated that the transformer has a thermal fault
failure < 300?. The Breakdown Voltage value of the unit 6 transformer is 86.0 kV/2.5
mm, which means that the transformer insulation oil is still in good condition and is still
suitable for use.
