Abstract :
In everyday life, electricity is a major need that is widely needed and utilized by humans.
Electrical energy is produced by a device called a generator, where the generator is a
synchronous machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Because
electrical energy is needed all the time, making the generator work continuously results in
power losses, one of which is the loss of stator power. Stator power loss will make the
temperature in the stator higher, so a cooling system is needed, namely the generator stator
cooling water (GSCW). The cooling system will keep the stator temperature within its
standard so that the generator can work efficiently. Based on the results of the research,
generator unit 1 PLTU Lontar. obtained at a minimum load of 03:00 with an active power
of 171.87 MW, a stator power loss of 178.67 kW, and a water cooling effectiveness of 93.51%
at 44.58 ° and a calculation temperature of 41.69 ° At the maximum load at 12:00 with an
active power of 292.73 MW, the stator power loss is 430.12 kW and the water cooling
effectiveness is 97.90% with an actual temperature of 51.95 C° and a calculation
temperature of 50.86 C°.
