Abstract :
The inclusion of renewable energy plants in the power grid is a challenge in maintaining
the reliability of the distribution of the electric power system. The distribution must be
continuous even if there are disturbances such as contingency or disconnection of the
transmission line. Contingency analysis is carried out in this plan, to find out whether
there is a load on the line that exceeds its capacity and voltage deviations that exceed the
PLN tolerance limit. In this study, a contingency analysis was carried out by removing
one transmission line on the Batam network in 2025 by applying 3 different scenarios,
without PV system, with PV system operating at solar radiation values of 1000 W/m2 and
200 W/m2. The scenario is analyzed using the voltage (PIV) and active power (PIMW)
performance index by sorting the PI values from the largest to find out what line
disturbances have a major impact on the system. The top three rankings are then analyzed
further to see their effect on the system. The results obtained after the PV system
connected, the largest PIV value is in scenario 3 when Sri Bintan - Air Raja line outage,
with the lowest voltage at the Air Raja substation is 144.99 kV or 96.66% of the nominal
voltage. The largest PIMW value is in scenario 3 when one Tj Uban ? Tj Kasam line
outage, with the largest loading on Uban ? Taluh line of 40.257%. So, it can be concluded
that after PV system connected, Batam system can still operate normally, but the
intermittent of PV system causes changes in the voltage and active power performance
index values for each different PV system output power.
