Abstract :
Circuit Breaker (CB) is one of the equipment that can make substations from short circuit
disturbances. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the CB installed at the
Angke bay Ketapang 1 Substation can still be used based on the size of the CB capacity
from the largest short-circuit current, simultaneously, insulation resistance testing, and
contact resistance testing. The result of the largest short circuit current in Teluk Ketapang
1 is worth 45,524 kA with an installed CB capacity of 50 kA. The value of t Open 2.9 ms
and t Close 0.25 ms in the simultaneous test is still below the standard, which is 10 ms.
Testing outside the room obtained the largest value of 60.2 G? and the smallest result of
18 G? the result is above the standard, namely 1 kV = 1 M?. In the test results the contact
limits obtained from the contact limits are 312, 424, and 512 with a contact standard of
50. Based on the calculation of the CB capacity, it can still be overcome because it is still
below its capacity, the simultaneous test is still below 10 ms, the insulation is below the
standard 1 kV = 1 M?, and the contacts are above the standard. The installed CB must
be evaluated either by direct contact or by CB because the contact limit exceeds the
specified standard.
