Abstract :
Today, the use of electrical energy is increasing but the availability of fossil energy as the
majority of the fuel used in power plants is increasingly limited. Indonesia is located on
the equator which causes Indonesia to have a fairly high intensity of solar radiation. This
potential, can be used for the utilization of solar energy as a power plant. In addition, the
use of solar energy as an alternative energy is more environmentally friendly because it
can reduce exhaust emissions from the use of fossil-based energy as a power plant. In this
study, planning for the construction of PLTS was carried out to help supply electrical
energy to PT. X with on grid system. In this plan, discussions are carried out from a
technical and economic point of view. The method used by the author to analyze the
feasibility of installing PLTS from a technical point of view, comes from the results of
PLTS modeling using the Helioscope application. As a result, the estimated energy
production for a year is 1,695,000 MW with a performance ratio value of 80.6%. By
utilizing the building's roof area of 13,725 m2, the number of solar modules installed is
2,305 units with 1 solar module of 550 Wp, the PLTS capacity produced is equivalent to
1,267.8 kWp. The investment costs required in planning the installation of this PLTS,
amounting to Rp. 19,916,195,653.00 with a payback period of 9 years after PLTS
operates.
