Abstract :
In maintaining the reliability of the electric power system, the Interbus Transormator (IBT) load
is generally set to a maximum of 80%. In the Poso subsystem, there are two IBT units at the
Pamona Substation with a capacity of 90 MVA. If there is a fault or trip on one IBT, the load will
be transferred to another IBT and may cause overload. Mitigation that can be done to avoid the
occurrence of IBT overload is the installation of Over Load Shedding. Before implementing an
Over Load Shedding (OLS) scheme on a subsystem, a simulation with the Over Load Shedding
method is carried out using DIgSILENT PowerFactory 15.1 software to analyze and determine
the effectiveness of the designed scheme. In the Poso subsystem, the OLS scheme is carried out
by removing some of the load at the Poso GI, Sidera GI, Tallise GI, and Pasangkayu GI. The total
load released is 65.9 MW. From the simulation results, when IBT #1 GI Pamona trips after the
implementation of OLS, the loading of IBT #2 GI Pamona which was previously 146.1 % becomes
68.1% so that IBT #2 GI Pamona is no longer overloaded. Likewise, when IBT #2 GI Pamona
trips after the implementation of OLS, the loading of IBT #1 GI Pamona which was previously
146.1 % becomes 68.3 % so that IBT #1 GI Pamona is no longer overloaded.
