Abstract :
The condition of the transformer when operating tends to emit a hot temperature. Changes in temperature in the transformer can affect the performance of the transformer in isolating. This study aims to investigate the problems that caused the failure to isolate and find a characteristic comparison between temperature changes to translucent stresses in the shell diala-B mineral oil isolation type and palm kernel vegetable oil isolation by adding pure H2O contaminants and iron sand. Using Quantitative methods, the test was carried out using IEC 60-156:2018 and IEEE C57.106-2006 standards. The results of this study show that the higher the temperature of the oil, the greater the value of the penetrating voltage produced. The translucent voltage value in Shell Diala-B oil reaches the translucent voltage standard of 30 kV/2.5mm. As for the testing of H2O contaminants and iron sand, it can be known that the more contaminants contained in the oil insulation tested, it will accelerate the occurrence of a penetrating voltage or the value of the penetrating voltage shown to be small below the PLN 49-1: 1982 standard, which is ?30 kV / 2.5mm.
