Abstract :
The accumulation of garbage in public trash cans is a rather complex problem. Trash
that is already full of boundaries causes litter to scatter around the bin and degrade the
aesthetic value of the environment. This pile appeared because the officials were late in
taking the garbage to the bin. This survey was carried out so that the officers could quickly
go to the already full trash can and quickly move it to the landfill. In this study, we
designed a waste height monitoring system applied to the waste bins of an automated
waste sorting system. This monitoring system is installed in metal waste containers,
organic waste and inorganic waste. This monitoring system consists of three ultrasonic
sensors attached to each of these bins. The system is controlled by a microcontroller board
that can connect to the internet, namely his NodeMCU ESP8266. With the Blynk
application installed on your device, you can monitor trash levels anywhere. Testing in
this study consists of testing the properties of the tools and implementing the monitoring
system. The ultrasonic sensor test results have a maximum error of 33% and a minimum
error of 3.3%. After testing the monitoring system, the system can now measure the
amount of trash in real time and send notifications when the trash can is full.
