Abstract :
Unbalance in the load on the electric power distribution transformer always
occurs and the imbalance occurs because of the unequal use of electrical energy. Due
to the load imbalance, current flows in the neutral of the transformer. The current
flowing in the neutral conductor of this transformer causes an imbalance in the
transformer load, losses, namely losses due to the neutral current in the transformer
neutral conductor. The losses contained in the transformer are power loss, core loss
and copper loss. In analyzing the problem using a mathematical model includes the
transformer load imbalance equation, power losses and efficiency. After being
analyzed, it shows that the transformer is in an unbalanced state where if there is a
large load imbalance, the neutral current that appears is also large. The efficiency of
the transformer will be even greater if the difference between incoming and outgoing
power is small. The percentage of loading on Transformer one is 22.5% and
Transformer two is 5.14. The load imbalance is bigger at night, that is, Transformer
one is 187% and Transformer two is 2.66%.
