Abstract :
Transformer oil is one of the insulating and cooling media contained in the
transformer. As an insulator medium must be able to separate the active parts with
different phases. In the isolation of transformer oil, there will be changes if there is
impureness contained in the oil. This will accelerate the occurrence of the isolation
failure process. There are several factors that can influence the occurrence of
insulation failures including the presence of solid particles, water vapor and gas
bubbles. The water content can reduce the electrical resistance of transformer oil and
cause ionization, which damages the solid and liquid insulation. This test aims to
determine the value of the penetrating voltage and dielectric strength in Nynas and
Hyrax oils with different compositions of water content. Then to find out how the ratio
of the penetrating voltage and dielectric strength in Nynas oil and Hyrax oil with
different water content compositions. To achieve the objectives in this test, it uses a
correlation analysis method, in order to find out how the relationship between the
translucent voltage ratio and the water content. So the more water content mixed or
contained in transformer oil the BDV (Break Down Voltage) value and the dielectric
strength will be the smaller the nature of the
