Abstract :
The need for electricity every year always increases this is in line with the development
that occurs, therefore, a more optimal distribution of electricity is needed, one way is to
install Distributed Generation. The installation of Distributed Generation can reduce
power loss that occurs on the line and can increase the voltage profile on the bus. This
study was conducted to determine the location of placement and capacity of Distributed
Generation in an effort to reduce power loss and improve the voltage profile in
Kalingga Refiners. To find out the placement location and capacity of the Distributed
Generation, Particle Swarm Optimization is used in the MATLAB software in an effort
to find the placement location and capacity of the Distributed Generation. Based on the
search conducted by Particle Swarm Optimization, the optimal number of Distributed
Generation installers was obtained totaling 3 units and the placement location of the
Distributed Generation was on bus U.536 / PD085; U.228/PDX007; U.624/PD097. The
capacity in the Distributed Generation was successfully determined where each unit
was 2,031 MW; 2,031 MW and 2,031 MW. Power loss on the network was successfully
reduced by 312.49 kW.
