Abstract :
The process of distributing electric power in the network, both distribution and transmission, requires a transformer where it is expected that the transformer can be operated optimally and efficiently over a long period of time. Windings are the main component of transformers that are useful for transforming energy. The winding is insulated with paper and then soaked by oil. Evaluation of the condition of transformer paper insulation is one of the important assessments in the assessment of the condition of a transformer because the paper insulation system is irreversible aging. Through this study, the life of the transformer was reduced based on the concentration of furan contained in the oil using quantitative methods with descriptive analysis techniques. With reference to the standards of IEEE C57,140 of 2017 and IEEE 45 of 2002, it was found that the Main Transformer Unit 1 and Main Transformer Unit 2 at PLTU Jeranjang are 3.8 years old and 2.4 years old respectively with the remaining service life of each . From these results it can be concluded that both transformers are in excellent condition and do not need replacement.
